Kid's Choice

Scott had the whole week of Christmas off from work. We have never had a week off from school and work and just stayed home! We didn't know what to do with ourselves. We decided each child could choose a family activity to do each day.

Day #1 Will's Choice: Chuck E. Cheese

Day #2 Cassidy's Choice: Dinner at Old Spaghetti Factory

Day #3 Layton's Choice: Rock and Mineral Museum

Day #4 Kennedy's Choice: Scavenger Hunt

We divided into two teams: Team 1 was Scott, Cassidy, Karsyn and Layton; Team 2 was Heidi, Kennedy and Will. Kennedy made us a list of everything we needed to do and find. The team that did it the fastest got one bonus point. Additional bonus points were awarded for certain items. Here are just a few of the things we had to do......

*Take a picture of someone in a shopping cart
*Take a picture of the most random item you can find (we totally won a bonus point for this!)

*Take a picture of everyone playing an instrument at the music store
*Get a picture of someone doing a muscle pose in front of Bally's

*Find the highest pair of high-heel shoes

*Go to Goodwill and find the ugliest sweater possible

*Find a book written by an author whose first name begins with the letter "P"

*Take a picture of someone lying down on a display bed

Scott's team got the fastest time (they beat us 10 minutes) but we got the ugliest sweater, highest heels, and best random object. To keep peace in the family, especially between two certain competitive brothers, we decided to call it a tie! (But you do the math to see who really won!)

Day #5 Karsyn's Choice: Breakfast at IHOP and Gymnastics Open Gym

That looks like so much fun. I will have to use that idea this summer when we are wondering what to do. Then again--I can't ever remember that happening--oh well. I'm glad someone's having a great time!

That is a great idea. Sometimes it is the best to top stay home & enjoy each other. We let the kids plan what to do for their birthday (& it ends up being the whole week to get it all in).

It is good to hear from you. Last I heard you were in Oregon (I think) I don't mind if you add my blog to your site. We still live in West Jordan. Send me your email address and I will send you my address.
