Adult-themed birthday cake
So I came up with the great idea of how to make a TNMT cake with my limited cake decorating skills. I decided to rely on years of practice with paper-piecing during scrapbooking. The only difference being I used fruit roll-ups instead of paper. Scott was quick to put the candle in the cake before I got a picture of the cake alone. And to my surprise (and all other mature guests) we couldn't believe how he had positioned the candle. It took his 7 year old son, Layton, to help point out the mistake to Scott when Layton commented, "Look, dad put the candle in for his private parts.....cool!"

I love reading your blog, even if it makes me blush sometimes. I so very much enjoyed your Christmas card as well. My wife and I were wondering if we could borrow "Harriet" or "Simone" for a week this summer since our efforts to have kids haven't paid off yet. (I still can't believe you named your kids after me!)
Anyway, not much going on here at the ranch. Several hefers have had their calves this week. We have 32 horse stalls out here but no horses...yet. My wife saw someone hit a feral boar hog last week and we raced in the van to go get it after she came home. We now have 50lbs. of "roadkill sausage" in the freezer. Want some?
I guess this week Scott hits 40...hard to believe. I still remember hiding behind the construction vehicles with his two sisters watching him propose. Such a beautiful beginning with the tears, the kiss, an embrace and 17 years and five beautiful children later, here we are. (do you really think Sonya would have let us go without watching?)
Take care and see you soon.
Harry
ps. I need some ranch hands this summer so anyone who wants to come work is more than welcome!
